Comcast Cares Day at ACTS in Dumfries will take place on April 22 from 8:00 until 1:00 with many different kinds of work projects happening to support the various services provided through ACTS. Volunteers are needed and a lunch is provided. Information and registration available at www.actspwc.org.
Ladies Book Club will meet on Thursday, April 20 to discuss Part 2 of Muslims and Christians at the Table: Promoting Understanding Among North American Muslims by Bruce A. McDowell and Anees Zaka. We will meet at 7pm at Darcy Heisey’s home. Contact Maria Ettema for more details.
The Ladies Bible Study will resume Tuesday morning April 18 at 10 a.m.. They will pick up with chapter 41 of The Westminster Shorter Catechism for Study Classes by GI Williamson which covers questions 57 – 59 of The Westminster Shorter Catechism.
Family Campout 2017 - Thursday afternoon thru Saturday, May 11-13th. Come when you can for as long as you can. At the Deane’s in Catlett, VA. Porta-Potty and Handwash Station provided. There are handouts in the foyer with more details on what to bring and what is available. If you have any questions please see Joe or Robin Deane or Dave Dise. Please sign-up on the bulletin board so we know who to expect.
We will have a fellowship meal following the service on April 2. Please bring a main dish and side, salad, or dessert to feed your family plus a few guests.
Please REMEMBERÂ that on the first Sunday of each month the SRPC Diaconate collects canned and dry goods for the local food pantry. Please bring an item or two to donate to the local food pantry and place it in the bin in the foyer.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: VBS is so wonderful, we are going to do it twice! We will have VBS at SRPC on July 10-14. We will have VBS in Herndon for the First Asian Indian Presbyterian Church on July 25-28. We need volunteers! If you are able to help with one or both of these programs—please add your name to the sign up sheet on the bulletin board. Also, please pray for this year’s VBS program as plans start to come together.
This year we will do a Medieval-themed program titled: “A Mighty Fortress: In Jesus, the Victory is Won!â€

Resurrection Sunday, April 16, we will serve breakfast finger foods between Sunday School and the Worship Service. Please plan to bring a finger food (i.e. doughnuts, bagels, muffins, coffee cake) to share—something that does not require a utensil to eat. Juice and coffee will be provided. The speaker is Aimee Byrd, who writes the “Housewife Theologian” web log and recently spoke at Potomac Presbytery’s monthly meeting.
