PCA Mercy Conference. The PCA’s annual Mercy Conference will be held March 9-10 (evening only on March 9) at Wallace Presbyterian in College Park, MD. The Mercy Conference is designed to teach and equip congregations to minister mercifully both inside and outside the church body, to underscore the leadership of deacons in mercy ministry, and to develop an integrated approach to ministry so mercy permeates the entire church. Registration is $90 ($35 for students), and the church will pay for anyone who desires to attend. If you have any questions, please see one of the deacons or Britt McNeill.
Valentine FLOCK game: One game we will play is matching baby pictures with names of those attending. Please send a baby picture for each person attending to Maria Ettema. You can either email the picture to her or give it to her at church by February 4. We have played this game once before, so please send a different picture then the one you used previously.
Food Assistance Request: On the first Sunday of each month, the SRPC Diaconate collects canned and dry goods for the local food pantry. Please bring an item or two to donate to the local food pantry and place it in the bin in the foyer.

During the February “first Sunday” fellowship meal, the Mission Committee will be hosting their annual Missions Banquet. This will be held after the worship service on February 4. In order to highlight the global nature of Christian missions we would like have a variety of world cuisine for the meal. Please bring your family’s favorite international food –main dish, plus either a side dish or dessert– to share with the church family and hear about God’s work through the missionaries SRPC supports.
Our annual Valentine FLOCK (Fun-Loving Older Covenant Kids) event will be on Saturday, February 10 at 6:00pm at the church building. This is a fun time to enjoy a Valentine-theme dinner and game time with our church family. Please bring a main dish AND choose either a side or dessert to bring with the main dish. This event is for adults ages 18 and older. There will be a nursery provided. Please signup on the sheet that is available on the bulletin board.
Ladies Book Club will meet at 7pm on Thursday, January 18 at the home of Maria Ettema. We will discuss the first chapter of “Augustine on the Christian Life: Transformed by the Power of God” by Gerald Bray, et. al. Contact Maria Ettema if you would like a copy of the book. Cost is $8.
On January 9, 2018 at 10am the Tuesday morning ladies’ Bible study will resume its study of G. I. Williamson’s Westminster Shorter Catechism: For Study Classes. They will pick up where they left off with chapter 57 of the book which covers WSC question #100. Please feel free to attend even if you don’t have the book or have not previously attended.
Senior Fellowship Brown-Bag Lunch, Wed., Jan. 10, noon – 1:30 p.m. at the church. If you consider yourself to be a senior citizen, please join us for a good time of fellowship at one of our senior brown bag lunch events. Bring your own sack lunch and dessert will be provided.
