New Sunday School Class for Adults and High Schoolers

We are very excited about the new Sunday School class that will begin on January 6th based on God is the Gospel by John Piper. Adults and youth will start the class together for a quick review of the chapter then the high schoolers will leave for a separate discussion. Copies of the book are available from Britt McNeill. A complete PDF version is also available as a free download here.

Ladies Book Club will have a Christmas Brunch on Thursday, December 13 at 10am at the church.

We will be discussing “Tending Your Garden” by Denise
Sproul. Please bring a breakfast item to share. If you would like a copy of
the book, please see Maria Ettema (email: rmettema@verizon.net).

Here is an overview of the book: Tending Your Garden is a book about the
“challenges and fulfillment of being a “keeper at home” in a collection of
short captivating essays. Encouraging and enlightening, Tending Your Garden
provides real wisdom for keepers at home.” Denise Sproul was the wife of
R.C. Sproul, Jr. and the mother of eight children. She went home to the Lord
on December 18, 2011, after a long battle with cancer.

We will only meet once in December. In January, we will resume meeting twice
a month.

Daring Girls’ Club Christmas Brunch Saturday, December 15th at 10am

The Daring Girls Club will meet on Saturday, December 15th at 10am, at the
Deane home. We ask each family to bring 3 dozen of one type of cookie. We
will assemble cookie platters and will deliver them to the rescue squad and
fire department that volunteer at our Harvest Festival every year, as well
as one to the police station. We will enjoy a Christmas brunch and devotion
time also. The girls are asked to start memorizing 1 Thes 5:16-18.

Attention Musicians!

Pianists and other instrumentalists are encouraged to provide music for the worship service. To volunteer to play an offertory, prelude, and/or postlude or to play for the entire service, please see Britt McNeill or Paula Strain.

Summer Family Sunday School Begins June 17th

On June 17th our summer Sunday school session begins. It will be a survey of a variety of heroes of the faith through history from just after New Testament times to the current day. The lessons will be for all age groups and will focus on how God has worked through people in history. This family style Sunday school is provided in lieu of the usual age-segregated Sunday school program in order to give the children’s Sunday school teachers a break for the summer. There will still be a nursery for very young children.
