Crossroads PCA in Dumfries is asking for volunteers to help with a tutoring ministry at Orchard Landing Apts. Men or women 18 years old or older. You would need to be able to donate two hours once a week (Monday or Wednesday). See flier posted on bulletin board in the hallway for more details. Also, fliers are available to take on the table in hallway.
Fall Church Picnic: Our annual fall picnic will be held Sunday, October 9th, from 3 p.m. until dark, at the Deane property (2590 Golden Pheasant Place, Catlett, VA 20119.) Food will be served at 4 p.m. The following are provided: hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments, drinks, paper plates, and utensils. Please bring: a dessert and a side/salad to share (please bring serving utensils), lawn chairs and/or picnic blanket for your family, portable canopy if you want one, fishing pole and bait if you want to fish (catch and release, bass, blue gill, and catfish), football, frisbee, etc. Activities available include fishing, 1-mile hiking path around property, horse shoes, climbing rope, plenty of room to play ball. Parents: There is a pond and a pool on the property. Please keep track of your little ones. We want everyone to be safe. Please pick up a flyer in the foyer and sign-up if you plan to attend. Men and Boys Campout: The annual campout will be held Thursday afternoon thru Saturday, October 6-8th. Come when you can for as long as you can. It will be at the Deane property, (2590 Golden Pheasant Place, Catlett, VA 20119). A porta-potty, sink, non-potable water, and firewood are provided. Many activities are available: Fishing; Hiking; Horse-shoes; Tomahawk Throwing; Wood-splitting; Safe Firearms Range; Frisbee golf; Kayak and Canoe; Rope Wall; Archery; Swimming. Ladies Book Club will meet Monday, September 19 from 6:30-9pm (please note earlier start time) at Susan Shirasago’s home. We will discuss Part Two of “God’s Lesser Gloryâ€. Please join us for this time of discussion. For directions or other information please contact Maria Ettema.
On July 9th from 3-5 there will be a pool party at
the Deane’s for the teen girls.
Please bring towel, sunscreen (as it is not provided) , dry change of
clothes, and sunglasses. There will be grilled hotdogs, beverages, and
snacks provided for after the swimming. If there are challenges with
transportation, please don’t let that stop anyone. There are some who could
carpool.

Due to a lot of rain in the forecast for the weekend, the church meal will be moved to Saturday, June 18th at 12:00pm at the Deanes. The campout will go on as scheduled. The church will provide the meat, buns and paper products. Please bring a side and dessert to share. Also, please bring drinks and chairs for your family. This is open to everyone so plan to attend even if you aren’t camping and even if you didn’t RSVP. We know this change will not work for everyone, but Saturday is looking to be a beautiful day so come if you can. We will set up and eat in the back yard this year. Swimming and fishing will be available, so bring your gear. Parents are responsible for lifeguarding own children.
